RIABID: Contemporary Georgian Art Curated by Nino Eliava

Share:

The Ria Keburia Foundation operates within a contemporary Georgian art scene that has, in recent years, gained increasing international visibility. Georgian artists today are present across European galleries, residencies, and institutional programs, forming a practice that is both locally grounded and internationally engaged.

Within this landscape, the foundation functions as a platform that supports artistic production and creates direct connections between Georgian artists and global networks.

The RIABID auction, curated by Nino Eliava, will take place in Tbilisi on April 4 at Hotel Ambassadori. It brings together contemporary Georgian artists across different generations, including Tengiz Sepiashvili, Maka Batiashvili, Koka Ramishvili, Ilia Balavadze, Alexander Varvaridze, Ani Todze, Enam Granoth, Guram Tsibakhashvili, Tutu Kiladze, Julia Sanikidze, Elene Metreveli, Giorgi Chkheidze, Mari Ataneli and Nika Khabelashvili.

The curation does not follow a fixed narrative. The works are presented as individual positions, connected through a shared focus on the human presence and its interpretation across different media.

Within this framework, the auction extends beyond a transactional format. It operates as a curated presentation, where attention is directed toward the works themselves and their relationship within the selection.

Collecting is approached as a process of recognition, shaped by a direct and intuitive response to the work.
